Gayle Homes Martin started her career as a graphic designer. She began writing in 2005 when she self-published her first book, Anna’s Kitchen: a Compilation of WWII Ration Recipes That You Can Create in Your Kitchen Today. Along with the historic recipes, Anna’s Kitchen told the story of the war back home. In 2006, Gayle switched genres and published Gunfight at the O.K. Corral: Luke and Jenny Visit Tombstone. It would be the first book in her award-winning Luke and Jenny series of historical novels for young readers.
In 2011, Gayle switched genres once again. She began writing romance novels under the name Marina Martindale. That same year she also founded her own publishing company, Good Oak Press, LLC. And, in 2016, she published an updated version of Anna’s Kitchen titled Rosie’s Riveting Recipes. Like Anna’s Kitchen, Rosie’s Recipes includes historic illustrations and stories of the WWII home front.
Gayle currently resides in Tucson, Arizona. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, photography and music.
